PLW has a rich sporting culture and is actively associated with the promotion of sports among its employees and their wards. PLW Sports Association (PLWSA) is headed by Sh. Pramod Kumar, Prinicipal Chief Administrative Officer/PLW and supported by Sh. Ashish Mehrotra, President and Sh. Parmod Kumar, Hony. Gen. Secy. of PLWSA.

Infrastructure:
PLW has a lush green stadium that boasts of having excellent facilities for Cricket, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Athletics. Besides the green and clean Stadium, the Golf course is another feather in our cap. A Walking Path at PLW Stadium has also been made for promoting the employees’ health and comfort while walking.
PLW has a most advanced and well equipped modern gymnasium having all physical fitness facilities for Cardiac and Muscular Fitness for our Sportspersons and employees. Two out-door gyms are also installed at PLW Colony I & II. A Synthetic Lawn-Tennis Court is also made in PLW premises. A Sports Hostel with 36 Beds facility is also been arranged to accommodate the sports persons during Camps & tournaments. Recently, two new Wooden Badminton Courts has been made in PLW premises and Squash court has also been upgraded, as well.
Achievements:
PLW Players have performed exceptionally well, especially in Athletics.

Sh.Eknath Sambhaji Turambekar (Walker) has set a New National Record with the timing 2:45:17 sec in 35 km walking event in World Athletics Race Walking Team Championship -2022 held at Muscat.

Ms. Kamalpreet Kaur represented India in Women Discus throw at Tokyo Olympics 2020. She qualified for the Finals and bagged 6th position.

Ms. Annu Rani has also participated at Tokyo Olympics 2020 in Women Javelin throw category.

Ms. Kamalpreet Kaur and Ms. Annu Rani hold National Record in Women Discus throw (66.59 m) and Javelin throw (63.24 m) respectively.

Ms. Manpreet Kaur, represented India in Shot-put at Rio Olympics 2016. She was the Bronze medalist in Open National Athletic Championship, 2021.

Mr. Eknath S. Turambekar, got 4th position in Open National Championship, Warangal in 35km Walk.

Ms. Kiran, Sprinter, Silver and Bronze medalist in 4x400m (mix Relay) and 400m (individual) respectively.

Apart from the above, inter department tournaments are regularly organized in various sports categories to promote physical fitness among our employees. All India Railway Athletics coaching camp for (throwing events) preparation for Tokyo Olympics, 2020 was also held at PLW Stadium under the mentorship of two times Olympian and Arjuna Awardee Sh. Shakti Singh, Senior Sports Officer of PLW.
